Before you can apply for funding you will need to register for an account first. You will need to provide:

A brief description of the organisation’s background aims and objectives and current activities/services and achievements.
A full description of the project requiring funding – what do you want to do, who will be involved, where and when will it take place and how will it be managed?
Full details of funds raised already for the project and any shortfall. How have you identified the need for this work? Please provide evidence to support this.
Do you need any permission from any third parties for the project? If so, please provide full details and the current status. Please provide full details of what difference or changes the project will make to people/community i.e. what are the projected outcomes?
Please provide full details of how you intend to monitor and evaluate the work so that you know whether or not you have been successful.
Please provide full details of the proposed timetable for the project and individual stages if applicable.
Please provide full details of the project costs and budget.
Copy of the last 3 years financial statements, It is essential to provide latest filed accounts (pref 3 yrs) or explanation why not availble.
Signed letter from the head of the organisation – this should be uploaded (in Microsoft Word or PDF)
Any other information – you have the opportunity to mention anything you would like us to note if not already mentioned.

Step 1

Create an account with us to setup your profile. ideally this will be the account you will use for notifications for the funding process.

Step 2

Once your account is created and verified. you can go to the funding application forms.

Step 3

Make sure your application is before the application closing date or it will be not reviewed.

Step 4

Fill out the funding application form, this will auto save for your convenience if you need to return later to collect more information.

Having trouble logging in to submit your application?

If you are unable to log in to the BNA charity website, please work through the steps below. Most login issues are resolved by following these checks.

Check your verification email

After registering, you should have received a verification email.
You must click the verification link in this email before you can log in.

Check your inbox carefully
Look in your spam or junk folder if you cannot see it
If you have multiple email addresses, make sure you are checking the one you registered with

Until the email is verified, your account will not allow you to log in.

Try logging in again

Once your email has been verified, return to the login page and enter your email address and password.

Check for CAPTCHA errors

The login form includes a CAPTCHA security check.

Make sure you complete the CAPTCHA before submitting the form
If you see an error message relating to the CAPTCHA, refresh the page and try again
If the CAPTCHA does not appear or fails repeatedly, try using a different browser or clearing your browser cache

No, at this time we do now allow editing of applications. Please make sure you have all content for the application correct at the time of submission.

What kinds of organisations don't you support?

Following a recent policy review the trustees have decided that they are unable to support the following areas/activities:

Projects outside the UK
Organisations under the control of the UK or Scottish government
Projects which are primarily intended to promote political or religious beliefs
General appeals or circulars, including contributions to endowment funds

If successful, how will my grant be paid?

As part of the application process you will be notified on successful application and contacted with the details you provide to complete the finacial steps.

How quickly will the charitable fund respond?

All decisions are made within 30 days of the application closure date.

How do you make decisions?

All decisions to award grants are made at the discretion of the trustees.

Do you fund religious organisations ?

Sorry we do not fund religious organisations.

Can I apply as part of a collaboration/partnership?

Yes you can apply as a collaboration but you will need to provide all the contact details as part of the application.
